india – a day to relax

Today is a day to relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast with the Sunday paper; The Sunday Times of India. Oh, how interesting. One section in particular, the Sunday Matrimonials. It gives a whole new perspective on classifieds of men looking for women and women looking for men. How about parents looking for a bride or groom for their son or daughter?

First off, I learned a new word today. Seems Indian men prefer wheatish complexions in their women meaning neither dark skinned nor light-skinned. Since the term dark skinned has a negative connotation, women use the term wheatish complexion in the advertisements to describe their skin color.

How about the family looking for a good looking, wheatish, educated, cultured, and HOMELY girl? Or a bride that can’t conceive? Or the family looking for a bride whose son has a handsome package?

Travel is so enlightening!

I love following these photos. When you get back, you must watch the movie “Water” about India….I would love to see all of your photos, and not just the ones you are posting here.
