I love it when I find a business run by a woman who has a) lived all over the world…b) dumped the corporate world…and c) added her entrepreneurial spirit to her creative side. Liza Fiorentinos was inspired by living walls during the time she called Paris home…and today…she’s the mastermind behind her living art business, Luludi…the greek word for flower. Having a passion for flowers and gardening myself…it was her terrarium making class that drew me in. There were a ton of decorative items to work with…including air plants (no soil needed) which is perfect for New York City apartment living. It’s a great venue for meeting new people, a date night, or something different to do with a bunch of girlfriends! Always fun discovering something new here in my city and it’s even better when it’s in my hood, the Upper West Side!
On the left I added my little Buddha to accompany my purchased zodiac terrarium…and on the right…my creation!
As a photographer (painter, sculptor, etc.) I think it’s so important to be open to other arts for inspiration…just like learning flower arranging with a store bought bouquet…or watching films…or gardening…or going to museums…it’s all good and keeps the creative juices flowing!
