On Friday a friend of mine and I made our way to Chinatown to meet some other girls for a late lunch. As we walked along Canal Street we couldn’t believe the mass of people swarming towards us. Then we connected the dots after seeing a sea of Yankee shirts. Yep, we had encountered the end of the Yankee’s parade. (btw: I read that some NYC office workers got a little carried away and began tossing files and documents out the windows when they couldn’t get their hands on confetti. Pay stubs, financial information, a balance sheet of someone’s trust fund showing $300,000 in stock…oops!)

Anyway, as we slowly moved along Canal Street so many people were approaching us and whispering…“Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chanel“…I can only imagine if you expressed a little interest where one might end up. As many times as I’ve been to Chinatown over the years, I’ve never had so many of these offers, one right after the other, block after block. Light bulb! They were out in droves because of the parade. Duh!

As we crossed Canal I noticed a policeman moving towards a group of guys that had open suitcases of designer bags and sounds of zip zip zip and the boys were scurrying like crazy. So if you’re interested in purchasing designer bags, I understand those bags are not the quality of the ones like the bag whisperers sell. So keep that in mind the next time you’re shopping for purses in Chinatown!
