central park dance skaters association

Looking to twirl, twist, shake and spin? And…relieve a litte stress?

Then ya need to check at the Central Park Dance Skaters Association. (Enter at 72nd street and make your way toward the center of the park as you near the Bethesda Mall area.)

Now addicted to photographing this group and with only a couple of weekends left of their season, I’ll look forward to the continued development of my shutter skills next year. Every Saturday and Sunday from 2:45 to 6:45 p.m. from mid-April through Halloween, the group sets up an elaborate sound system and plays music for all the dance skaters. It’s free and supported by the membership of the CPDA. A very fun way to spend the afternoon in Central Park! (Note I’m behind the lens and NOT on skates, ha!)

I’m beginning to learn their names…so maybe by end of season next year, I’ll have more scoop on them! (Perhaps I’ll even sneak over for a few Halloween shots as well! So stay tuned!)
