Central Park – 843 acres of pure beauty

Central Park laps

Today my cycling group didn’t meet due to rain because once again the weather forecasters were clueless. It was a beautiful day. I took the opportunity to do some riding in Central Park. Remember this slice of heaven is just a few steps from my front door. And for those of you who don’t know… the park is closed to traffic on Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and weekends from 7:00 p.m. Friday to 7:00 a.m. on Monday. So no worries about vehicles. How cool is that? A full lap around the park is 6.1 miles and offers both hilly and flat terrain giving us cyclists varying levels of difficulty. So I cycled 4 laps – a total of 24.4 miles. I captured a few fall scenes that if you could see in person it would just take your breath away! Oh, I also had fun racing the Boat Basin Trolley. I won, but something tells me he enjoyed the fun and let me win…
