about the gotham girl
This blog captures my juicy bites of the big apple where every day is an adventure!
How did I end up here? Well as a small child I traveled with my grandmother one time to New York. She was a buyer for yarns at Heironimus, an upscale department store in downtown Roanoke, where I grew up in Virginia. We traveled by bus and as dusk approached, my grandmother was eager for me to see the lights as we got closer to the city. As I peered out the big window of the Greyhound bus, I was mesmorized by the vastness of the city lights. I had never seen anything so beautiful. The lights seemed alive as they twinkled in the distance. Fast forward twenty years from that trip, I was lucky enough to visit and play in the city a number of times. Instant love. As my career advanced, I had the opportunity to visit the city even more often to work and play. I knew one day, I would live in the big city. My number one “bucket list” item. Dream come true…
