A photographer, a blogger, a world traveler living in New York City…
Well quasi New York City. I also live in Scottsdale, Arizona
and spend quite a bit of time on the farm in my hometown of Roanoke, Virginia too.
I love sharing my city and my adventures with people around the world*!
So how did I get into photography after 30 years in the corporate world? Well it all started with realizing a life long dream of living in New York City. It started with “just one year in the city” and that has now turned into nine years! Like so many others…I started this little blog to document and share with my friends and family why NYC was so special and why on earth I would want to live there! At the same time I was trying to find my identity. After 30 years in the corporate world, I was not longer a corporate executive. Who am I? Along that same time my daddy was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and I also used photography to escape and to help cope with losing someone who had been my best friend throughout my entire life. He passed away in 2014. My love of photography continues to grow and have found that it’s my daily meditation…I get lost in the process…and it’s in those moments of constant looking and seeing and finding beauty even in the old and the worn…that I find peace, solitude and meaning in my life. I enjoy sharing places and culture with others that may not be so fortunate to travel…to share images that will educate and perhaps help someone in need. I may not be able to “change the world” but it all starts with “one person at a time…” Right?
Photography brings me great joy and purpose in my life…
…and as a amateur photographer…I love learning more and more every day.
This blog is my personal journal…and it brings me pleasure to share it with you as well.
Thanks for visiting!
