As someone who lives and walks this city daily…my blog is all about delving a little deeper, seeing what it has to offer, and capturing the true essence of New York City. Whether you live in Gotham, or just visiting…feel free to look around my blog. Bet you might find something new to do!
P.S. As of the end of April 2013 my more personal postings will now be at The Next Few Years.

A night in Saudi
First of all this is not my photo, but taken by a very good friend of mine who is a world traveler and photographer extraordinaire. After a nice dinner and lots of champagne, Karl shared his photos and provided an interesting overview from his recent trip to Saudi Arabia. Of all his fantastic shots, this one was my favorite. Thanks K for sharing! An enjoyable evening catching up with lots of very good friends. Thanks everyone for coming!

Arizona Biltmore Hotel
Attended a lovely luncheon today at the Arizona Biltmore hotel. One of my best friends was honored for her ongoing volunteerism with the YWCA and Arizona Animal Welfare League. Way to go Norma!!! Thanks so much for inviting us as your guests!
Built as one of Phoenix’s first resorts in 1929, today it’s in the Waldorf Astoria collection of hotels. Frank Lloyd Wright served as the consulting architect, and the Arizona Biltmore remains one of the only existing hotels in the world to benefit from his influence.
Beautiful day of 73 degrees and once again I’m missing another snow storm in MY city!!

Backyard lemon harvest in Scottsdale
When Dad visits in Scottsdale one of his favorite pastimes is picking lemons from the tree in the backyard. I on the other hand love the thoughts of lemon drop martinis. Yum Yum.
Day at the beach
Beautiful day at Brighton Beach yesterday. I love going there. You just think you’re right in the heart of a Russian town. Warm sun… walking the beach in the winter..fantastic. A great way to spend my last day before I head out to sunny and warm Arizona for a couple of weeks! Life just couldn’t get any better!

Movin and groovin in Central Park
Walking home yesterday from my photography class and I cut through Central Park. On Saturdays there’s a specific area in the park that sets up music to encourage people to come and skate and show off their moves. Now this woman had it goin on!

Photography class at the Met
Great experience today attending a photography composition class. Our class met at the Metropolitan Museum and the emphasis was on simplification of the shot and creating a story behind the photo. The teacher said I passed.

Trinity church
This woman was the only person in the church and I just had to capture her, discreetly of course. No flash allowed. The Trinity church, founded in 1697, is an Episcopal parish located in the Wall Street and Ground Zero area.
